BCCIE Summer Conference provides an essential platform for the growth of BC’s International Education sector. BCCIE’s annual conference brings together more than 400 participants from our province, across Canada and beyond our borders. The conference attracts senior leaders, researchers, practitioners, student service providers, administrators, government, NGOs, and students to explore these ideas with the aim of strengthening our work and taking steps towards advancing outstanding leadership in the fields of International Education in BC.

Meeting the needs of international students through unique service offerings

This session explores the discrete needs of international students as they move through their post-secondary life cycle and how UBC has designed unique and intentional supports for every step of their journey. We will discuss the targeted marketing and recruitment initiatives used to engage prospective international students during their post-secondary decision making process. Then we will look research driven and asset based approaches to programming developed to meet students’ transition, progression, and development needs, and how the university community is engaged in this regard. Moreover, we will share our approaches to supporting international students next steps beyond university.
