BCCIE Summer Conference provides an essential platform for the growth of BC’s International Education sector. BCCIE’s annual conference brings together more than 400 participants from our province, across Canada and beyond our borders. The conference attracts senior leaders, researchers, practitioners, student service providers, administrators, government, NGOs, and students to explore these ideas with the aim of strengthening our work and taking steps towards advancing outstanding leadership in the fields of International Education in BC.

Disrupting Language Learning Through a New Mode of Program Delivery

CultureWorks will discuss their innovative approach to the development and delivery of a fully online blended program, focusing on the shift in their teaching and assessment practices. This program provides the immersive experience of the classroom while allowing students to connect from their home countries. Presenters will discuss some of the challenges of adopting a culture of innovation and supporting teachers and students in the changing landscape of language learning.  Perspectives on time and dollar investments and licensing opportunities will be offered, with a focus on how online programs can provide a gateway to post-secondary education in Canada
